General Questions
Why InAlbum? InAlbum dedicates itself to help users turn precious photos and videos into attractive and interactive photo shows in easy and fun ways. It is a premium software that only uses high quality graphics and animation. Creating a show can easily be done just by adding photos or videos, and choosing one of our fully animated Themed Templates.
Not only that, the software also enables you to edit photos, add effects such Black & White, Old Photo, etc., add captions, speech bubbles, animated clipart, sound, or your own recorded voices, in addition to background music.
You can also use our Custom Template and mix & match show components such as photo transitions, introduction and ending animations, animated backgrounds, buttons, fonts, among other neat effects.
In what capacity can InAlbum be used for? InAlbum enables you to share your digital photos and videos in the form of shows that are viewable on computer, web or on your TV using a DVD/VCD player.
Shows can be exported to DVD movie with menu, VCD, SVCD, Flash Movie, AVI video, HTML, screensaver, wallpaper, executable files, autorun CD, etc.
Additionaly you may also print photos with or without decoration in various sizes (A4, wallet size, etc) and purposes (CD cover, label, etc).
What is the requirement to run the software? InAlbum will run in any PC with Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista operating system. The minimum system requirements: 600 MHz CPU or better, 512 MB RAM. Recommended: 1.0 GHz CPU and 1 GB RAM.
What features are not available in the trial version? All features of InAlbum are available except for the free hosting. The number of photos per show is limited to 5 and this version will expire in 15 days. You are still be able to send emails to friends in order to share your shows. If you purchase the software you will receive a free personal InAlbum.com website account to host your shows.
May I use InAlbum for commercial purposes? Yes, you may sell your shows created using InAlbum.
What digital image formats can InAlbum read? InAlbum can read most popular image formats such as jpeg (jpe, jpg and jpeg), gif, tiff, bmp and png.
How many photos I can add into one show? Our research shows that viewer gets bored if the show is too lengthy; hence we decided to set the maximum pages in one show at 100. You can add up to 10 objects (video, clipart, sound, image) more per page, this way will give you up to 1100 images per one show. For more information, follow this tutorial.
However, it is better to categorize and store photos in smaller size shows, in terms of show size and viewer satisfaction level.
When I edit my photo, will the changes modify the original photo file? No, all photos used for the show are copies of the originals.
Where does inAlbum save my show? It is saved in \My Document\My InAlbum 3.0 Docs\Shows folder. The file name will be the original title with an .i3m extension. The original title is the name given when the show is created and if you modify the name later, the file name does not change.
To find out the filename, hold your mouse over the show thumbnail on the main menu for a few seconds until a tooltip appears.

Does inAlbum save my photos and music when I save my show? Yes, inAlbum will save all your photos, videos, music, templates and everything used by your show so you don't need to worry about deleting/modfiying files (photo, sound, template, clipart, etc) will damage your previously saved show.
Installation
How do I reinstall InAlbum? Here is a step-by-step instruction:
1. Download the latest version from :

2. Stop InAlbum if it is running (you dont need to uninstall it first).
3. Execute the installer file and wait until finished.
Why does not InAlbum ask me to enter a serial number? InAlbum does not ask you to enter a serial number because the serial number has been installed before. Dont worry, this is not an error.

I use InAlbum 3.0, do I need to keep the previous InAlbum versions? No. You may safely uninstall the previous InAlbum versions.
What is a template? There are two types of template in InAlbum. They are named Themed Template and Custom Template.
The Themed Template is a pre-designed template that can easily be used to create your stunning photo album. To personalize the show, you can then add cliparts, voices, images or change the background music.
The Custom Template is a blank template which comes with options to choose your own introduction and ending show animations, photo transition effects, photo layout (location of photos in the show), buttons, background animations, etc.
Do I need to pay for additional templates? No. We constantly add more templates, it is free of charge. However, some of the additional templates are only available after you purchased a license of InAlbum (registered version).
Can I create my own template? Yes, InAlbum has Custom Template which gives you option to choose the show introduction and ending animations, photo transition effects, photo layout, buttons, background animations, etc.
When do you add new templates? New templates will be added regularly and it will be announced via email.
How do I download more templates? When you run InAlbum, in the Choose Template section, click on Download More Templates.
Can I suggest what kind of templates to be added? Yes, of course. We take suggestions and criticism. We cannot promise to meet everybody's request, but if you have a specific request, please send us an email .
Clipart
What is a clipart? A clipart is animated or static image that you can use to decorate your show. Some of our clipart are interactive which you can click on to make it perform an action.
Do I need to pay for additional clipart? No. We constantly add more clipart, it is free of charge. However, some of the additional clipart are only available after you purchased a license of InAlbum (registered version).
Can I create my own clipart? We try to provide as many high quality clipart as possible. If you wish certain cliparts to be made available, please submit your request. If it is a common request, we will try to provide it for downloads. InAlbum also has the ability to load external clipart (flash movie clips, animated GIFs or jpeg images).
Can I import Macromedia Flash movie (.SWF) as clipart? Yes, go to the Decorate Show section, click the add SWF button. Add SWF However, not all flash movie can be imported. The flash movie that will be imported should not have complex action script, nor preloader and must be run in 12 frame per second.
Can I import animated GIF as clipart? Yes, go to the Decorate Show section, click the add GIF button. Add GIF
Can I import external image as clipart? Yes, you can add external images such as JPEG and BMP. go to the Decorate Show section, click the add Photo button. Add Photo
How do I download more clipart? Click the Download More Cliparts button in Decorate Show section and you will be directed to the download page.
Video
Can I insert a video into my show? Yes, you can, click the Add Video button in the Decorate Show section.
What kind of video formats are supported? InAlbum supports major video formats, such as:
* Microsoft Windows Video Files (AVI, WMV, ASF) * MPEG Video Files (MPEG, MPG, MPV) * Quicktime Video Files (QT, MOV) * MPEG4 (through AVI format) * DIVX (through AVI format)
How many videos can I have in one show? You can add 1 video per page. One show can have 100 pages.
How long is the maximum limit of the video? About 1.5 hour (65000 frames). But keep in mind, long video requires quite a lot of disk space (show size) and longer time to encode your show to CD / DVD.
Song and Music
What kind of music file formats are supported? MP3, OGG, WAV, and WMA (unprotected).
Can I add multiple songs to my InAlbum? Yes, you can. Click the Mix multiple music in the Music & Settings tab. Mix multiple music
Can I use my own music file? Yes, you can, Click the Choose my own Music File.
Can I use song from my audio CD ? Yes, InAlbum can read song from standard audio CD.
I cant use a song from my audio CD, why? Some of audio CDs may have a special copy protection. InAlbum will not be able to use this audio CD.
Can the shows be saved as a DVD movie? Yes, InAlbum can produce DVD movie for both NTSC and PAL standard. The DVD movie can be played on TVs using most standar home DVD player.
Can I create DVD movie with menu? Yes. The menu is customizeable, you can change the photo thumbnail, frame, buttons, caption fonts and colors. Example of DVD menus:
Can I save more than one show? Yes, you can.
Why cant I play a DVD / VCD / super VCD (SVCD) using my DVD Player? Check the specification of your DVD player, some brands may not support certain video format, nor certain blank CD type (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW, CDR, CDRW).
Why cant I play DVD / VCD / SVCD using my PC? Each video format requires a CODEC, it has to be properly installed in your PC. For example, to play SVCD, you need to install MPEG2 codec.
My Interactive CD does not play automatically when inserted into a CD-ROM. Windows 95/98 system sometimes has problem with CD-ROM autorun. When this happens, double click file play.bat inside the CD-ROM to play your show.

Sharing Album Online
How do I share my shows with friends? You can share your show by sending it as an email link to friends or by uploading them to your free InAlbum.com personal website (personal website is only available after you purchased InAlbum).
You can also upload it into your own website or server. InAlbum has built in FTP client to transfer your files.
How long will the show be kept in the InAlbum.com servers? If you are using a trial account, your show will be kept for 5 days. After you purchase InAlbum and upgrade your InAlbum.com account, it will be kept for 15 days.
This applies only if you send the show via InAlbum email service. Your uploaded shows into your InAlbum personal website will stay there unless you delete it by yourself.
InAlbum fails to connect to the internet even though my PC is connected to the internet. Sometimes maintenance is being performed at the InAlbum server. During that time users cannot download or upload anything to the InAlbum website. Please try again after a while.
Also check your firewall software (such as Zone Alarm, Black ICE, or Norton Personal Firewall) to not block InAlbum for accessing the internet.

An error message appeared when I tried to make my show available online. When I click the Start Upload button, I get a message Username does not exist. Please check your username and password.
If you forget your password, type in your username and click on the Forget My Password button. Your password will be emailed to you. If you still have problem, send an email to support@inalbum.com.
